Startup Weekend returns to Boston, with a themed event centered around the Creative Industries, on November 15th at Boston University's School of Management! We'll be hosting a unique mix of Boston's best and brightest student and professional entrepreneurs, along with coaches and sponsors, to help turn their ideas into validated products over the course of 54-hours! Michael Sheeley

Co-Founder - Kickscout

Michael Sheeley is the Co-founder of Kickscout, an online and mobile shopping service that allows people to work in teams to optimize their retail needs. Michael was previously the COO, Chief Product Officer and Co-founder of RunKeeper, a mobile fitness platform that incorporates a unique blend of tracking, sharing, analytics, and coaching to enable runners and other fitness enthusiasts to get motivated, stay motivated, and improve their results over time. Prior to RunKeeper Michael worked for BAE Systems as an engineer and project manager in the area of military planning, strategy, and computer vision.

Karen Katz is the Regional Manager for the Venture Pipeline at DLAPiper. She has served as a business development executive at Mintz Levin, and with Law Practice Consultants LLC, where she specialized in business development training, coaching and strategy. Ms. Katz also served on the Board of The Capital Network and was a founding member of Mass Medical Angels and has worked with Golden Seeds.

Principal - Beta Fund

I am a Principal of Beta Fund and portfolio manager of a commodity fund. I serve in technical and advisory roles with several startups, and as a private trustee for individuals and families. My passions are helping people do great things, the efficient allocation of capital, programming, and web apps that use machine learning.

Adam Stroud

Lead Android Developer - FitnessKeeper, Inc.   |  

Adam is the Lead Android Developer for the RunKeeper app and co-author
of “Professional Android Sensor Programming”. He is an active member

Now in his third year of service at BetterLesson, Yevy is motivated by the company's socially conscious mission and the enthusiasm of his coworkers. Outside of work Yevy enjoys table tennis and live local music.
